I rented a car from Dollar (Hertz) in Orlando When I got to the counter there were 40 - 50 people in line. I waited an hour to get to the counter and then spent another half hour at the counter because of a system problem. Finally headed to the garage only to find there were NO cars. Waited with 20 other people as they brought cars around one at a time. I took me longer to get a car than it did to fly to Florida. Do not rent from this company. Employee incompetence is beyond belief, especially within the Hertz customer service department. Instead of honoring a $150 credit voucher and giving me a refund, they repeatedly told me to contact my credit card bank to get the amount due refunded to me. When I did so by supplying the bank with all the "evidence" justifying the refund, Hertz began hounding me with mailed bills and emails to get this refund / credit back. Wish I could give zero stars. It's not fair to those actually deserving of one-star for Hertz to be considered equal. Customer Service is basically a black hole. Even worse, I've got 10,000+ points but in trying to use points for two different trips coming up, neither rental was eligible. YET I DON'T SEE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON THE WEBSITE RELATIVE TO THE DENIAL OF THE RENTALS I WANTED TO MAKE USING POINTS. Rented from Hertz in Oklahoma City after my car broke down on a cross-country trip. I booked via AAA in the AAA office and they applied their 10% membership discount. When at the Hertz pick-up location the clerk said there was no AAA discount and that she was unable to add it. I asked if I were to be late returning in Chicago the next day would I be charged a late fee or the whole day. She said I would be charged the whole second day. Horrible company how do u file a lawsuit cause they are robbing people. but soon as u go down there and hurt one of them you are the trouble maker times are too hard for these people to be scamming you

I would never rent a car through this company ever again. Had a car rental for March 10 had to cancel it because they didn't explain that it will be a 500 dollar deposit so they told me they will refund me my money. It will take 7 to 19 business days. I waited 14 days and didn't receive my refund called them back and they tell me the agent that was working my case didn't finish processing my refund. On a recent trip to Dublin Ireland, I had a confirmed rental price of 452.42 euros for the entire rental period, which was agreed upon and signed for during pickup. However, upon returning the car, I was shocked to see a total charge of 1329.26 euros on the receipt. This was a blatant disregard of the confirmed price and an attempt to overcharge me. Went for a electrical car for lyft. Appointment was next day today at 3pm. Drove 45 min to location in personal vehicle. When arrived had to wait 30 min to be told they don't have any electric cars available. And said they don't know when they'll have more. Waste of time, waste of gas when someone could've called and said this before app. Then a 5 to 7 day return which is bogus. I rescheduled because it's the only hertz with rentals available. Wouldn't recommend tho unless you enjoy wasting time and money. Thank you

I would rather walk 100 miles than rent a car from Hertz! When my family was driving back home, they received a flat tire and were stranded on the side of the highway at night. When they called the emergency line, no one was willing to help and they were told them to call 911. They did indeed have to call 911 and a trooper had to assist them.
