History Established in 1953. Heavner's was founded in 1953 when Chester and Stella Heavner moved here from Detroit, bringing six canoes with them. We now have over 200 kayaks and canoes to rent. The business is still owned and operated by Chester and Stella's son, Alan.

Great place to get away from the stresses of modern living and spend quality time with loved ones.
Polite staff.
Disappointed that the 'moonlight' paddling return trip was 10 p.m. this year, an hour and half earlier than last year, and the moon was barely high enough in the sky to see it before we got back to the rental shack. We only had an hour in Milford, which on a busy night isn't enough time to even get served before we had to get back to our canoes. If this time table stays the same we won't be back
Always have a super fun time! Been coming here for years & have never been disappointed.
I always have a fantastic time out on the water with Heavner's help.
Had a fun adventure with some of our Girl scouts at the Moo canoe. We had beautiful weather and a wonderful time! This was a perfect introduction for our first time canoers...and we all earned our canoe badge! We will definitely be doing it again next year!
