At Hattie's, you'll be pleasantly surprised the variety of entrées offered. It's always the best of what the season has to offer, put together creatively. A glance at the menu and you'll come across some interesting concoctions—buttermilk fried chicken with mashed potatoes and Tasso ham gravy, goat cheese and herb stuffed chicken breast, and BLT pasta. The menu looks different every season!

great food, so-so service – There were 5 of us guys that went out to dinner to Hattie's on a Friday night. We had reservations, had to wait about 20 minutes for our table, and I eagerly anticipated seeing the menu. This was my first visit and I heard good things. The decor of the place is nice. I think they did a good job. Nice bar. The restaurant is kind of long and narrow, yet the tables are small and cramped. 3 of 5 of us are over 6'4" and we were squeezed on a round table meant for 4, barely room for our plates. A shared... read more
Not worth the hype – I don't understand why this restaurant won't split the check. It's one thing trying to divide up a single check among 3 or 4 people. But it's another thing when you get a single check for 11 people with tax and 20% tip already included in the final total. It took us more than 30 minutes to figure out who owes what and how much money would go on each of the 8+ credit cards. We were told this is a management policy and they can't do anything about it. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant for large group... read more
Worst treatment in Dallas! – We wanted to try Hattie's with professional colleagues after recommendation of the Bishop's arts district. A reservation was made for 9pm, party of 5 on a Saturday night. We arrived at 5 minutes past 9 and were told a table would be available within 15 minutes. The hostess was not particularly friendly, but correct. We accepted the situation and walked around in the Bishops Arts District and enjoyed some of the local Arts Shops. For the next 45 minutes (!) one of us would go back to the restauran... read more
Excellent food, service, ambiance, a new favorite! – We were there on election night. Very crowded, but the service was still top notch. Ultra chic and cute atmosphere, totally timeless. We started with a great bottle of underrated Conn Creek Cab. Then proscuitto wrappd figs stuffed with nuts and blue cheese and awesome crab cakes. Next was velvety asparagus soup and an above par wedge salad with crispy proscuitto. Then we split the catfish. Wow! Have they ever elevated that fish. Must be coated in panko and ground pecans, s... read more
White tablecloths tell you everything – Hattie's relies on "tradition" to create an exclusionary environment that smacks of discrimination. We had a reservation, but our party of 4 representing 3 different races was seated at the worst table in the restaurant when there were vacant tables in better locations. After an uncomfortable meal that was mediocre at best, we left feeling like we had experienced the worst of the "Deep South Tradition".
Great Business Lunch – This place is a wonderful place for a business lunch. Walking in you realize how bright and open the restaurant is. It is decked out with white everywhere and yellow flowers accenting spaces here and there. The bar area is separated from the restaurant by an open doorway where the host greets you. This day the host was a tall gentlemen who was not so friendly but he was effiecient. When we were seated we were promptly served water and wonderful sourdough bread by the slice. Orders were taken where I ch... read more
love the pecan crusted catfish! – Hatties is my favorite restaurant ever! My idea of the perfect meal is the tomato basil soup with grilled cheese wedges, fried green tomatoes, then off to the delectible pecan crusted catfish. Then it is on to desert with the amazing bread pudding. The atmosphere is simply elegant and very inviting. The service is wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion or anytime you just want the best dinning experience of your life. I'll be there soon, you can count on it!
Feeling Pampered and Relaxed – Every trip to Dallas would not be complete without a visit to Hattie's. The owners Tony and Hal work tirelessly to insure your every need is met. The enticing mixture of simple elegance with bistro cuisine creates an atmosphere of relaxed indulgence. Each course is a true delight! To round out your experience be sure to sample the fine selection of wines and aperitifs, and of course the wondrous deserts! Reservations are recommended!
Great reservation place! – Hattie's is a wonderful dining experience. It is a place that is best suited with an advance reservation. I have read many reviews here that talk about having to wait, etc....make a reservation! We recently had a group of 10 dine here and had a wonderful experience (again when planned ahead this location is ideal of a larger group). The service was impeccable. Our server was fantastic and patient as we quizzed him about several of the dishes. The pulled pork with low country grits continues to be m... read more
