Great service! My husband ordered a steak medium and when we received our meal the waitress asked him to check and make sure it was to his liking. It was a little on the medium well side and he told her it would be ok. Within minutes a manager stopped by and asked for the chance to fix it to his liking. Excellent service and the food was amazing...and healthy!!! A friend took me and my husband to eat for his birthday. And the dessert OMG!!

Service and atmosphere is amazing. Best queso ever. But! I came for the chicken-fried steak. I thought it pretty much sucked.tast like garlic salt . Worst of all no sweet tea !!! Wait now this is supposed to be a historic Texas restaurant. NO!! Sweet tea. REALLY?
The food was amazing, but the service unfortunately was not. Quoted a 15 min wait, which was actually an hour wait. Once inside, another 10 min before waiter took drink orders, and 10 more before we got the drinks. Food came after another loooong wait, but from appetizers til dessert, never got a refill of my tea. Again, the food was wonderful, but won't be back.
I love this restaurant! They have literally the best Caesar salad and spinach portobello quesadillas I have ever eaten in my life! I have been craving them ever since I visited last week!

I wish I could give this place a negative star review, but I cant. I have been coming to the gristmill for years. Tonight we were absolutely embarrassed and turned off by the absurdity we experienced. An absolute awful place and experience that I will in fact tell everyone about. Please keep in mind that i have been in the service industry for 10+ years. Terrible. .
Food was not great. Steaks was over cooked and took about 30 minutes longer for us to get our food than people beside us that showed up later than we did. The plus side the waitress was super ice and tried to make everything right. The mgr came over and took the steaks and appetizer off our bill. Would I ever go back no way. Sorry for the bad review.
