The restaurant was charming with a nice view. Food was ok. 2 of our 3 steaks came out over cooked. They took them back and brought new ones that were under cooked, but we just said they were fine because the other party at our table had already finished eating. The staff was friendly. The bill was over $100 with tip for one adult and an 11 and 13 year old. I can think of plenty of other places that we could have had an excellent meal at for that price. Truthfully I probably will not return.

I want to know where you buy your chips. I could eat them all day long.
Food was very good for lunch. Chips and red salsa for appetizer, split a chicken salad sandwich on sour dough bun with their French fried chips (which were an amazing surprise...really tasty). Prices are good with great ambiance and fan-cooled comfort on a hot afternoon. Wait staff was very attentive. Parking is a challenge.
My husband and I were there yesterday, the food as well as the service was excellent!!! Everyone who worked there that we had contact with was overly friendly and helpful!!!! Wonderful place, can't wait to go back on my next trip to Gruene!!!!!
