The location and ambiance is great with the outdoor seating. The food is not great I'd say average nothing special. Who serves a burger without fries, if you want fries it's $3.00 more really? Second visit I'm not impressed typical tourist food trap..
Can't afford it anymore. $36 for 2 . Chicken fried steak, gravy, green beans, and water. Hamburger then extra for fries and diet coke. Last time there!!
As always, everything we ordered was delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and very attentive.
My favorite restaurant. Best ribs, tomatillo salsa & frozen sangria.
Lived in South Texas all my life, first time here and loved it! The food, service, sitting out over the river...... Just beautiful. A big tree house ! I'll be back sooner than later.
I love taking a trip to Gruene & stopping at GristMill. I cant complain when service is great & food is delicious!!
I have been to this restaurant on 2 occasions. The first time I ended up with a bad case of food poisoning from either a margarita at the bar that tasted funny but I wrote it off and drank anyway, or it was my steak which was served rare after I had ordered medium well. So I ended up at this restaurant again a day ago (not by choice )and it was a little better since I didnt get food poisoning but the grilled cheese served on the kids menu meant to be fed to a small toddler had mold on it and it ruined my appetite. First time visiting with my loving fiancé. Just fell in love with the place so beautiful.
Overrated, just like the restaurant's on the Riverwalk, in SA. Tourist Traps.
