They sat us down in less than 15 minutes, which I thought was great. But it took over 45 minutes for us to get our food. Everybody around us already had their food. I like the Gristmill, but I am not sure if I will return anytime soon. It's the first time we have gotten bad service.
Everything was delicious! The staff was fun and friendly. Friday night at Gruene, can't beat it!

I absolutely love going to the Gristmill because of the atmosphere and was excited about going yesterday but I was very disappointed. Our waitress Ashley, I believe her name was, seemed to be in a rush to get our order and be done with us. My sons burger was raw in the middle and she rarely came around asking us if we needed anything. The tortilla chips were stale and nasty. Yes, fantastic onion rings, wonderful company, excellent food, beautiful natural surroundings in a historic building loaded with character and charm, fine service, a relaxing time, cozy down home atmosphere on the river. The building is a historic gristmill. We enjoyed it even more because of the presence of family and family friend.
Cool place.....just hot with no ac and those fans were not doing it.
