My husband, myself and my two stepsons went here this past Saturday night. The one had a football incident resulting in having his jaw wired shut. I called the restaurant Friday and spoke to tony to see if they could help us out with food for him. They went above and beyond to make sure the food was perfect for him to be able to "eat" through a straw. From clam chowder to steak and potatoes to dessert. Service was bad, my noodles were stuck together. i sent a letter to manager about service, food never received any response. don't care about customers and really should for their prices. won't be going back.
I use to like coming here but the Last few times I have been to this restaurant, it has been slow and poor service. Like yesterday, it took a while to get service and the people who work there don't know what they are doing. Our server smelled like cigarette smoke and that was enough to lose our appetites before the drinks came. The food took too long and the server was not attentive to our table at all. Fabulous brunch. Elegant restaurant. A pittsburgh staple for decades.
Hostess sat us at table with forks soaking and napkins to be folded. ..and was going to leave them on our table..Unbelievable. ..not even busy here...she really had to do that $!/!!&?

This used to be our favorite place to dine, but sadly we have noticed the decline in service and food over the past year or so. We just had a birthday dinner for my 22 year old daughter in the River Room this evening (6/14) and it took over an hour for our meals to arrive. The crab cakes were so small and DRY and the broccoli was hard and cold. The Martha's salad has changed for the worse. It seems like ever since Janet the manager left, the quality of the Grand Concourse has gone downhill and the prices have gone uphill
I am a previous employee of the Grand Concourse and what was said by Travis also a previous employee all of 6 months is NOT true. I worked there for 3 1/2 years and I can guarantee you that if a filet mignon fell on the floor there is not one of their chefs or cooks that would ever use that steak. Thank you!!!
