Charged me for £120 for survey which was fine! I live in a two bedroom terraced in York, needed a full re-roof of slate tiles, waterproof membrane, new facias, guttering and down pipes, lead work, and small outhouse with the same works and they quoted me in excess of £43000. Thought it was outrageously expensive, maybe they over quoted because they didn’t want the job? But still took my survey fee

An exceptional firm of roofers. Certainly the best we have used .. promptly responding to our initial enquiry, efficient, courteous and, even more importantly, they have carried out our roof work to the highest quality standards. Even the scaffolding came down the morning after the building work was finished with no delay. They may not be the cheapest but it’s worth spending as much as you can afford on a roof - it will give you payback over time!

Despite premium prices, I am sorry to say that I did not receive premium workmanship. The roof looked good on completion; the Welsh slates are beautiful. But GNR did not address the chimney leak and left that for me to deal with later-- GNR blamed solar panel installers instead when a leak developed shortly after GNR left site. GNR sad they would revert to check out another problem, but they failed to do so. The truth is that the chimney stack needed quite a lot of further work and rectification to be watertight. Shayne Martyn did a great job identifying and then fixing a leak in our roof. He is competent, efficient and clearly explains what he’s doing and then does it. Eyre scaffolding also did an excellent job making a difficult scaffolding problem look easy.
