Terrible service ruined a good night – I joined just to write about an absolutely terrible experience here.... The restaurant was half empty but it still took an hour for the food to show up. I mentioned to our waiter that dinner hadn't gone so well. His excuse was that someone had tried to run out on the bill and that he had to chase him down. While that's terrible, I'm just not sure how that adds 40 minutes of prep time to my dinner... 1 star for decent food and only 1 star for terrible customer service. Globe, thank you f... read more
What happened to this place? – I took a client to lunch without a reservation and the host gave us the most appalled look and told us to come back in 45 minutes. I think it was the bartender or a waiter who offered to squeeze us in which was extremely nice, but I'm not sure it was worth it. I believe my companion left hungry and I would have offered him some of my food-but I ate all of the tiny portion. We had to flag someone down to refill our water and I couldn't help but feel that since we had not ordered cocktails or app... read more
Don't go for lunch! – I have been to Globe many times over the years and always thought it was very good, so when a client asked me to take them there for lunch, I happily made reservations. What a mistake. We sat down at 12:15 and quickly gave our order to our waiter. It took a long time to get water and bread, but we were chatting and didn't really notice. At 12:50, 40 minutes after we sat down we still had not gotten any food! I spoke to our waiter and told him to skip the appetizers, that we now really only had time for ... read more
It used to be one of my favorite place but not anymore – They raised prices, it got too noisy and the best Mac and Cheese in Bay Area became barely average (they changed the type cheese and macaroni). I also guess now they got more popular, and thus, they are trying to squeeze everyone in by basically making sit on each other laps. The food can be great sometimes, so we might be back for dinner one day, if we are feeling on spending too much money but definitely not for lunch. The first and last experience during lunch was h... read more
Great food - skip dessert – Great wine list-- some good finds at a reasonable price. My boyfriend and I thought the service was fine-- our server was attentive, but definitely gave us our space, which was nice. The food was phenomenal. We started out with the soup of the day, which was a cauliflower puree topped with lobster. I ordered the roasted chicken and my boyfriend, the swordfish-- both of which were excellent. We also had a side of macaroni and cheese (I had to order it, per the reviews) and it was delicious. Made th... read more
What can I say? I was in love. This is the type of place you go to when you're in the mood for an upscal-er meal. Like when you want to go on a first date with someone that you don't think would be impressed by Crap in the Box. The lighting is right on. Not too dark, but dark enough that with just one drink anyone is worth a trip back home.
Goodfood late and good food early – Globe, i havee been going there for years, it is as good today as it was ten years ago, if not better. I love to have the globe classics The Mesquite Grill Bone In New York Steak, the Mac and Cheese, the homemade spaghetti with tomato and basil, and all the great things that Chef Jason makes on the Farmers Market dinner on Sundays.
Talented chef – Bullets -Great food early or late -Great Late night dining -Great warm and friendly service -Great room -Interesting wine list Great restaurant dont miss out on this place
Great Late Night Spot – After hanging out drinking be sure to check out this spot if you are hungry! The menu is great for the late night munchies and the ambience is cool.
