The best place to get your timber from in Plymouth. The prices are great and on the whole the service is great. There is a large selection of internal and external wood, along with a selection of fittings and screws etc. They can cut the wood on site for you. We've bought anything from fence posts, feather edge boards, skirting, decking boards, multiple size battens and floorboards there. I'll be back for more timber again soon for the next project
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. I recently went to them for a piece of hardwood 80cm long by 5cm wide that would need to be cut to a bevel. The cost was a bit too much for me but as I thanked the staff for pricing it up one of them suggested I look at some off cuts that I could possibly plane to my requirement. Sure enough I saw exactly what I wanted and the chap cut it to the right length and width. He refused to take any money. Superb service. I have used them before for bigger jobs and will use them again.
We recently had wardrobes fitted and installed in our new loft conversion as well a refresh of our staircase (new handles, newel posts and spindles). Our Carpenter, Devon Oak Interiors, did a fantastic job with the support of Gillsons Timber. Gillsons provided them with materials and space to get the job done and the results speak for themselves.
Quality timber and an even better service, staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the bespoke machining service is unmatched
