Dr Aguiar is not only a very skilled doctor but his bedside manner is wonderful. Many times with orthopedic surgeons you have to deal with physicians that have great skills, but you have to accept that there bedside manner is non existent. Dr Aguiar is the total package. Dr Aguilar was vey thorough and offered several alternatives for my issue.
Dr Aguiar did a total knee replacement on me. He and all the staff at OrthoVirginia were professional and friendly. The surgery was out-patient and I was headed home 5 1/2 hours after arriving. All follow-up care was great. Dr Aguiar always explained things clearly and never rushed me. Doctor and technicians always saw me at my appointment time without waiting in reception or the exam room. I highly recommend Dr Aguiar and OrthoVirginia for their care.
Dr Aguiar was wonderful and very professional pre and post surgery. He did great in dealing with pain management. I will be undergoing another replacement on my left knee and look forward to the procedure.
I am a 69 year old woman who never had any previous surgery making the prospect of knee replacement quite frightening. I did EXTENSIVE research to find the best doctor locally that used robotic assisted surgery. I did a LOT of pre-surgery PT to strengthen the leg muscles and followed my PT's advice for exercises that I did DAILY at home post surgery. Don't just do the post-op PT when at the PT appointment! My mother saw Dr. Aguiar for years and now I’m seeing him. He was my surgeon for my total right knee replacement surgery and he did a fantastic job! He’s the absolute best! He’s’ professional, kind, informative, and caring! I highly recommend him to everyone!
He said it wouldn’t hurt and it didn’t. Very nice and knowledgeable. Would recommend.
My knee replacement I decided not to go through with my knee replacement surgery just yet. Dr Aguiar understood. Said I should be psychologically ready which I really don't think I was but I'm getting ready to travel so maybe when I get back. Very understanding. Does everything possible to help relieve my pain without joint replacement. I am so grateful for his kindness.
I am an avid pickleball player. Last year the arthritis in my knee became too severe and painful so I had to stop playing.
