Dr. Aguiar handled my husbands knee replacement surgery. He was thorough prior to the surgery explaining everything including the significance and short term pain related to this surgery. He answered all of our questions thoroughly. He was very positive and upbeat on the day of surgery and was very attentive to my husbands needs while at the hospital and was very attentive to my questions and concerns post op. Dr. Aguiar is always so honest, respectful, and knowledgeable. He takes the time to explain everything and provide all options of care. When I injured my knee, I went to a physician closer to me and they did not agree with what they saw in the MRI nor report. Dr. Aguiar took time to examine me, then he reviewed the MRI and showed me all the problem areas. He then took time to explain treatment options, etc. He made me feel like I was his only patient.
He knows how to treat his patients with care, he is excellent!
Listened to all of the issues I was having
I had a prior experience with TKR with a 5 day stay in hospital and my expectations were 100% mobility and zero pain. I achieved this in a reasonable amount of time and was happy with the results. 15 years later, time for the other knee. Did my homework, worked with a trainer to have strong legs and knees and Dr. Aguiar used robotics, a different technique this time. Dr. Aguiar performed TKR with Robotic’s on the 5th. The Herndon Surgery Center was phenomenal front desk, the entire pre and post op team, anesthesiologist(the best!) surgical team and the physical therapist were top notch. The minute i walked in i was made to feel comfortable and all my anxiety started to disappear. I returned home early pm and have not had one minute of pain. Only swelling here and there. The doctor listened closely to what I had to say. I am only in my seventh week after total knee replacement, but he was really encouraging and approving of my goal to reach 130 degrees in knee bend. (Even though it might take longer than eight weeks post surgery.) I liked the fact that the surgery utilized a robot. Precise shaving of the bones and accurate prosthesis size was reassuring. Went to the doctor referred to me by my PC. I went there for my OA left knee. He asked me questions and listened to what I said and my problems. He showed me the comparison between the two knees. He gave me options that I can act on he didn’t asked me to do the knee replacement yet. I had injection on my knee and will do PT first. Doctor his assistant and the receptionist were all pleasant and easy to communicate with.
Dr. Aguiar performed my second robotic assisted total knee replacement a few months ago. The recovery was just as good as for the first knee replacement. It’s wonderful to be free of the knee pain! I definitely recommend Dr. Aguiar and the robotic assisted procedure.
