I went on a weeklong trip through Central Europe by myself with this travel agency and it was the best time of my life. They make it so easy to book the trip and then when you go everything is planned out for you, all you have to do is show up on time. I had no problems at all. If I could give zero stars, I would. It is an absolute travesty what has happened to my friend who was traveling to Iceland yesterday. Gate 1 booked from NYC to Iceland but left the trip to NYC on them to book. They did, and had 2 hours to spare on layover in NYC, but through no fault of their own their flights were delayed by over 2 hours and they missed their flight to Iceland. IcelandAir booked them as a "no show" and Gate 1 is treating them as if they canceled. They won't help them get to Iceland without repaying thousan... read more
I think that Gate 1 travel does not help you when they book flights that are so close together that when there is a delay you can not be helped. Gate 1 needs to correct a wrong fine to a very sweet family 'The Kleins' they are stuck in NYC and are paying out of pocket due to circumstances out of their control, with no help help by your agency. What a horrible experience and very sad.
Absolute garbage. They leave people stranded, pass the buck off to other people and still keep the money. My friend has had her dream trip destroyed, lost tons of money, and is now basically being held hostage until she pays someone (airlines, rental car company, or hotels) lots of money and all gate 1 is doing is copying the same generic reply on facebook and passing the blame to others on the phone.
This was our first trip with Gate 1 but and after the first couple days we knew we made the right choice!!!!!! This is a well put together company that provided great hotels, great food and an awesome guide. We were taken care of the second we grabbed our luggage at the airport till we checked those same bags again at the end. We will choose Gate 1 again for our coming trips!!!!!
I took the Golden Triangle India trip: it was one of the best excursions of my life - not a detail was left to chance: they took care of everything, it was culturally sensitive, super informative, the hotels were great, the food was outstanding - bravo!
