We are stranded in Peru. Waiting to have any accommodation from Gate 1. They knew about potential problems and failed to either warn us or make alternative plans. We have spent more time on the bus or in our hotels than seeing the promised sites. I hope to amend this with good news, but so far, Gate 1 has locked us out :( --- things got better, but I am still disappointed that we missed a third of our trip and that better planning was not completed.

We just completed our third tour with Gate 1. First was to Turkey, second to Morocco, and the most recent one to Costa Rica. Gate 1 is a class act and we plan to travel with them again!!!!!
14 Day Danube River Cruise with Warsaw, Krakow and Budapest on the Sound of Music was the best vacation we had with Gate 1 travel. River Cruise is the way to go, just unpack your suite case once for the week. Our tour guides Lauren, Daniel and Monick took very good care of us and my 14 friends. Boat staff was impeccable! Our waiter Emilia went out of his way to ensure we were happy with all our meals. We just returned from double firsts- a trip to China & traveling with Gate 1 (14 Day China w/4 Day Yangtze River Cruise, Sept. 5-18). As retired educators, we have been on several tours in Europe & Australia, some with students. We thought this was an amazing experience! Just returned from the central tour trip of Europe was fantastic!! Our tour manager, Bogdan was knowledgable , a kind man, sense of humor, along with our driver Tomas and all local guides. We just returned last night from the Greek islands of Santorini and Mykonos and Athens on our first trip with Gate 1. My husband was on the computer today looking for another one! What fantastic service and nice, informed and helpful people! Just the right amount of assistance at the right times and then we were on our own to join groups or explore any way we wanted. The perfect balance of independence and assistance. Ready to do laundry and pack for the next one!
