I'll never shop here again. Your treatment of Maurice was disgusting. Oh & dogs don't belong in stores period on or off leashes. Only service animals.
What a way to treat your employees. Disappointed that you fired a loyal employee after he was a victim of racism. The interaction prob lasted a matter of minutes and you expect him to go track down a manager to help him deal with this bigot?
Your response should have been a reminder or training on the appropriate response from an employee in these situations or at the most a verbal warning. To fire a man after 10 years of service, who YOU just awarded Cashier of the Month, for receiving a vicious verbal, racist assault from a customer, when he ironically was upholding your other store policy of no unleashed dogs, just follows the bizarre, horrifying world we live in. You just lost my business and I suspect you bought yourself a protest.
These people fired a Black man because he told a loud racist customer that he shouldn't talk to him in that way. These people do not care about protecting their employees from hate speech.
I can’t say I am surprised by the news of how you fired a long-time employee for refusing to tolerate racist verbal abuse by a customer, but you should be ashamed of yourselves as employers and human beings. I will not continue to take my business to Home Depot and will share this with everyone I know until a public apology has been issued and this employee has been reinstated.
