It’s always fantastic. Tonight we attended their annual fundraiser. We were invited by friends, have been to the restaurant many times but not for the fundraiser. Chef Rick Bayless and his staff did an amazing job . Everyone was there as a volunteer giving back to the small farmers that support and supply local restaurants.. it’s a fantastic way to give back to those that supply the food and need help from time to time to keep their farms in operation. We had waited in line since 4:30 and surprised to learn that you had to still wait to be seated even if you were close to the front of the line. I had heard of this restaurant a couple of years ago and was pretty excited to try it for the first time yesterday but I was disappointed. I had the sweet corn tamale and just didn't like the after taste and didn't care for the chicken taco. It was a bit too peppery. I was finally able to visit this establishment. Our entire experience was exceptional. The environment ran like a well oiled machine and an abundance of smiles. We tried an array of items on the menu. All of them were flavorful and filling. I will definitely return. I'd like to see Rick's shrimp burger added to the menu. That was my favorite episode.
Start with the Blu Agave Margarita! The snapper dish and the shrimp dish were to die for. Service was top drawer!

Hands down best restaurant in chicago. I wish I saw rick bayless there more often. Almost all ingredients are made from local farms in Illinois. I'm just confused about their reservation system. You can't make a reservation but everytime I'm there I at least see one table with a reservation sign posted up. Rick bayless is bae. #dreamman Do not skip dessert because that's the best part!
