Just returned from a wonderful week onboard Cimeroon a Swan 38. She’s had a fair life that only goes to prove the seaworthy nature of these boats. They don’t build them like they used to. James the owner has recently fitted a new fridge and the engine has very low hours. After a thorough handover we departed and spent a week sailing up and down the West Country. With most nights spent on the anchor I appreciated the Rocna anchor and generous amount of chain.
We had a fantastic weekend bareboat charter on Cimaroon, a lovely Swan 38 in the condition you’d expect from a classic yacht her age. Everything worked perfectly and handover and return was very smooth with James. Would highly recommend and we plan to return to do the Scillies hopefully in not too distant a future.
James must have the patience of a Saint having to deal with some of the numpties that use his boat. We just got back from a fantastic four day charter on Cimaroon (his Swan 38). Early June 2025. The handover at the start was excellent and we received detailed information on the yacht prior to meeting him. Our heart goes out to James as his last review was not as we found the yacht. The owner was helpful and responsive during our week charter of the Swan 38. However the boat was in poor condition especially the teak deck. Fuel tank leak, fridge not working, old and baggy sails.
Excellent weekend on the Swan 44, Vendée. We only wish it could have been longer! There were six of us on board, including two novice crew who as a result are now converts to sailing. For anyone who loves to sail, the Swan 44 is a dream. She sails very well, is well-built and sea-kindly, and is well equipped. James' handover was first class and friendly, and we had no issues with the boat at all. And of course Falmouth is a great location to sail from. We'll be back for a trip to the Scillies!
