Was injured and hospitalized. My account was charged fees on top of fees. Asked that fees be removed due to my long standing account and no NSF record. Sorry cannot....you must pay them.Paid them and closed account. I don't need a bank that treats me like yesterday's trash ! I will never recommend them when people ask about a bank. Worst Bank ever. wish I could leave -5 stars. Have had a mortgage with them for the last 3 years and every year my payment goes up. I understand that taxes or insurance goes up and the escrow needs to be adjusted accordingly. HOWEVER, I have sent extra funds into the escrow account to cover the shortages and they just mail it back and raise my payment as they estimate i need more monthly going into escrow -which they wouldn't need if they would keep the overage in the **** escrow account! This is the worst auto loan experience Ive ever had! Do not finance anything with Citizens Bank!!! My car was repossessed on February 11, 2020. The letter for me to redeem my vehicle was sent on February 14, 2020. The letter stated that my contract would be reinstated if all fees and charges were paid within 21 days of the notice or car would be put up for sale. Stay away from this bank if you ever need to talk to customer service good luck, if there is a problem good luck solving it with them. They are holding over $12000.00 of my overpayment of Escrow money over the past 4 month ,and it seems that nobody can release it, i had the same situation with another bank within 2 days they sent me a check.
Completely unacceptable service. I have my mortgage with Citizens and since their migration of the Citizens One website to combine with the banking website, I have been unable to access my account. Their systems (website and phone) are unable to locate my loan. Yet I still receive emails saying they have received my payments and notifying me that tax documents will be available later this month. I called customer service on a Monday at **** AM ET because I want to verify my first ever mortgage payment went through on the first of the month. I was informed the wait time for customer service would be over 60 minutes, "due to higher than normal call volumes".I'm skeptical the long wait time is related to "higher than normal call volumes." This company does not maintain accurate or current phone numbers. Due to a non-working phone number that appeared on my bank statement with an automatice draft to pay for my Vivint product, I had to close the account since it was suspected as a fraudulent withdrawal. After much investigation from the bank and myself, I have corrected my end of the error. Citizens One has not corrected theirs. Their website login system changed at some point in the past month. Now no one with a mortgage through them can login to pay. The system instructs customers to call for login issues. However, hold times are over 1 hour. I also need to discuss escrow with them. Hold times again over 1 hour. I was finally able to pay over the phone via automated system, mortgage only.
