We had a very positive experience with Fortress One when we contracted with Brian for front elevation damp treatment back in November 2024. Fortress One had been recommended by our architect. Brian's damp-treatment solutions were thorough, pragmatic and value for money. His quote was neither under-priced (gambling on follow-on joist repairs) nor over-specced. And he's a very good chap as well.
Brian did a fantastic job! I had some serious water damage in a dividing wall which required a lot of renovation, treatment of the floor boards and the wall was then re-plastered. I couldn’t be happier with the result. He would be the person I would call again should I need further maintenance of the structure of my house.
We hired Brian at Fortress one for damp proofing work and were left disappointed by the experience. During the project, we were unexpectedly charged an additional £2,000 without any prior notice, explanation, or agreement. This lack of communication about costs was unprofessional and left us feeling frustrated and unsure of how the charges were justified.
