RecommendedAwesome place central to all the best sports car or motorcycle ride ever.
RecommendedWe stayed here for the first time this weekend with our kids ages 9 and 12 for their very first camping experience. We stayed at the campground and it was so beautiful by the river with the dam in the background. The staff at the Resort was so nice and even though we stayed at the campground they treated us the same as if we were staying in the Cabins. RecommendedThe marina was a lifesaver. The weather made Hazel Creek impassable for us so we had to hike out to the mouth of Hazel Creek instead. A park service trail crew informed the Marina that we needed a lift. They made the trip out to get us late in the afternoon and could not have been nicer to deal with. Even helped with arrangements to get us back to our truck in Bryson City. This is the second time I have used the Marina to get in or out of Hazel Creek and highly recommend them.
Broken facilities (lazy river out of commission), cabin furniture is falling apart (porch chairs /tables). Don’t expect a partial refund or credit if your stay is sub-par. Money comes before customer service here. The fact that Fontana is trying to delete negative reviews shows their honesty in dealing with problems.
RecommendedOur 1st weekend stay at Fontana. Definitely will not be last. Very affordable. The village is beautiful and historic. Definitely more to do and see than we had time. Glad we had walkie talkies very limited cell service.
Furthest thing from a resort! This place is plagued with problems that get worse every year. For about 8 years now we have been coming here only due to the location. The location is the absolute only reason our group continues to deal with the massive amount of problems year after year. To start, reservations are always a nightmare. RecommendedIf you want family atmosphere with friendly people or just peace and quiet, a romantic time, plenty of activities on site or nearby, beautiful scenery and some really great food at the Lodge restaurant, then you need to check out Fontana Village. We love it!
RecommendedGreat venue for our dance activity. We have been returning twice a year for the last 25 plus years. Love the event, love the place, great staff to work with. Plenty of activites to enjoy when we are not dancing. Miniature golf, pool, lazy river, great ice cream store, and don't miss the boat ride. Put it on your bucket list and then do it.
