What a FUC*ING nightmare! I've been to Floyd's many a times. This time I go in and recognize only a few faces. Just my luck, I get the nicest sweetest girl newly moved here from out of town and to my right the person I came with is also getting her hair cut by a newly relocated nice young lady as well. All is well for the first 40mins...never having view of the mirror by the time I'm asked how its coming along about 3 inches of my already short hair has been hacked off as if a hedge trimmer had been used. OMFGWTF just happened to my head! "Wait, hold still. Just hold still for a second I want to see something. Yeah dude, um, your hairline definitely isn't even in the back. Damn, where did you get your haircut? This is bad, dude." Those are words no man wants to hear after getting his hair cut. Those are words I heard after getting my hair cut here. And she smashed the electric trimmers against my skull with the tact of a drunk gorilla. Two opposable thumbs down.
I felt like I was on a bad amusement park ride. – Yesterday I went to Floyd's 99 Barbershop on the north side of Colordo Springs. It was a cool atmosphere. I was greeted by friendly staff at the front desk, my wait was short (just a few minutes) and the young man who approached me politely introduced himself. Hidden Gem! – So I was in desperate need of a haircut and couldn't afford a trip to my regular stylist in Gilbert. So I took a chance and went to Floyd's for a trim. Tara is the stylist that attended me that day. She was very nice and I kinda gave her a hard time about everything she was doing because I have had many people screw up my hair. Fun atmosphere! – The people are friendly, the music is good and the atmosphere is pretty cool, too! Band posters plaster the walls there, and chairs and barber stations are kinda old-school! It isn't just a barbershop for men, though!! Women can get cuts and color there whenever (though i'd reccommend an appointment/same day appointment, because some people there just don't so womens hair and you don't wanna wait forever)!
Looking for Mia? – I called in one day for a haircut with Mia and they told me she was no longer there. She is the only person there who I ever let cut my hair. I asked where she was and they were rude and refused to tell me. I needed a haircut bad, so I went in and tried one of the other girls out. Horrible. Vanessa is AMAZING! – When I lived in West Hollywood I literally just had turn a corner and take a few steps and I was at Floyd's. I went there for about two years and always got a 'good' cut (way better than Super Cuts on La Brea -Yikes!). BAD qulity – I got a terrible cut in all of 6 minutes - they woman rushed through so fast leaving holes, uneven lines, it was just a mess, and then she was done, she said how is it, and i commented that i would like a little more off the sides. This seemed to bother her, and she gave me a tude about it. I hear her and another guy complain that "hey its a $20 cut" and "these people" want you to spend extra time and not get paid for it ... or something to that effect. NO TIP - NO RETURN VISIT
