I absolutely HATE this bank. I had fraudulent transactions done on my account and the employees at my local branch have not helped me. Not only did they not close my old account and give me a new one. But my debit card has not been replaced and it’s been over 2 weeks. Also I have another debit that is being taken out my account as We speak that I didn’t authorize. So now I have to report this as well. This was my first bank ever. I happened to be visiting from out of town and decided I needed cash to consider getting a snowball... turns out the nearby stand was closed.. so all this was for nothing. I was informed of the $3 charge my bank charges me, which I agreed to, but not of the $2.50 for balance inquiry and another $2.50 for withdrawal. So my non-snowball cost me $8. I have choice words to describe how I feel about this bank and am sad since I used to drive by and smile at it.
They've been in business 80 years and still do things like it's 80 years ago. They locked my debit card after hours and have no help line to reactivate it. I'm stuck at the gas station with no gas. Waiting on family to drive from an hour away to bring me $10 for gas. Thanks for nothing. They are a terrible and out-dated bank.
I love this bank! They try their hardest to help you any way they can. They are all very personable and relatable people. My family banked with them so when I wanted to open my first account, there was only one choice. I have had accounts with other banks and seemed to have issues with them, but never with First Guaranty. Thank you for being so great.
