firefly should fly away – I've been around the block and never been treated worse by any door anywhere. The coolest places in hollywood don't have the attitude of this place. You're in the valley, get rid of the attitude. The door told me that without a reservation the wait would be between a minute and an hour! He told a group of very attractive women that if they were thirsty, to go to the 7-11 for a six-pack. Get over yourself!!
Believe IT – Firefly rocks. The music, the drinks, the food, the whole place. I love it here. I have been a customer since the very beginnning. I enjoy it as much today as ever. IT has evolved somewhat but the changes have been for the better. Firefly is constantly improving itself. At times it is one step back to take two steps forward, but it is still moving forward any way you cut it. Where else can you get such a cool scene at such a good value. NOWHERE IN LA. Highly recommend it.
real scoop – I have been to most every bar and restaurant on the "best of" list for 2002, firefly is on of the true winners. Everything from the food to the service to the people is tops. The design is excellent. Every room or area of Firefly is a new and exciting suprise. The beauty is you can choose inside, outside, patio, or library areas to hang in. Firefly encompasses an entire evening and prevents one from having to travel to many different places an one evening. Keep up the good work.
door policy has ruined this place – ...which is a shame because it really is a nice space (and the unisex bathroom can make for some interesting meeting possibilities!). Drinks are pretty good when you do get in, food is mediocre with small portions (and expensive for what you get -- don't eat dinner here). But now that the management has decided to try to turn this into a guest-list-only joint, I've no patience for it. I wish they'd get over themselves...it's in the Valley for cryin' out loud!
RUDE STAFF – I went to Firefly one night I was disrespected from the second I came to the door to the second I left. It was the rudest staff, management, and security I have ever witnessed in the Los Angeles Area. The security made people stand outside in the cold for 10 minutes when it wasn't very busy inside to give the place a busy, hype feel and made my date and I cold in the night air. The hostess was rude, the bartenders were disrespectful.
FOOD SUCKS! RUDE HOSTESS! – I came here a couple of nights ago with friends, we made reservations; arrived on time, but they made us wait for over 25 minutes for our reserved table. The hostess was rude, unfriendly and obnoxious and the food tasted like sawdust. Come to this place if you want crappy food and mediocre service!
GREAT atmosphere – For a romantic night out with a date, this is the place to bring them. It is somehow hidden, even though it's on Ventura blvd. They have a great lounge for drinks before dinner. Everybody is very nice and professional. The food was exquisite and the mood of the place just as good
I'm not good enough – Impossible to go with a group of friends and have a good time. The front door people are rude and way to stuck up. They need to remind themselves that they aren't guarding Fort Knox. Also, it's okay to smile to potential clients. Shape up!
FIRE HOSTESS! – I will NEVER go back again! The hostess is way too full of herself. I have been to many of LA's top restaurants and NEVER have I seen anyone so rude. A hostess sets the tone for a restaurant and this one should have been fired long ago. They will cancel your reservations or when you show up it will not be there. Also, the fake line outside to make it seem happening is so sad. This place is in no way up to par with any restaurant in the valley or the westside.
