Trendsetters flock to this hidden Valley gem for its innovative lounge and dining experience. Housed in a building overgrown with ivy and no sign, Firefly's interior is divided between an indoor "British library" lounge and an outdoor patio dining area. Each section offers a full bar and serves dinner followed by a late-night menu. Expect to be amazed by the inventive New American cuisine featuring seasonal organic ingredients. Menu highlights include the Fried Olives, Fried Figs, Calamari, fish and meat mains. Note that smo... read more

User review by askmeanything – Wow, this place has gone from a great bar and restaurant to just a great place to have a drink. The food was very good when it first opened a couple years ago and now just passes as mediocre...I know they told me at one point they were working over the menu to focus on quality instead of quantity (funny as they only have a one-page menu) and it just didn't happen for them...
Hip Studio City Scene – This is a really nice place to go in the Valley. It's sort of hidden behind foliage and ivy, so watch for the valet stand, and on weekends, sometimes the line. The food is good but often secondary to the scene. Lots of good looking singles. I like the layout of the patio, but it can get smoky. The inside is nice as well and I like the sort of study-like look of the bar. Make reservations.
Hollywood Scene in Studio City – Great atmosphere and food! The menu is limited however the food is delicious and the ambiance can either be fun or romantic. The restaurant is mostly lit by dim lights and lots of candles but if you look hard enough, you'll spot a celeb. Dinner menu is available until 11pm and thereafter, they have a late-night menu. And the bar area has a cozy, library decor. Look for the ivy covered building or you'll definitely drive by it and yes, the bathrooms are unisex.
love this place – Great food, good service (wow) and the best atmosphere. Ask to sit at a table with curtains... so nice and romantic. I will surely be back.
BLEW ME AWAY – I gotta say, i live in Hollywood and this was the last place on earth I would've thougnt woud've impressed me. I came begrudgingly and left a fan. Not just a fan but a major fan. The service was some of the best I've ever had, knowledgeable but not only that, truly friendly. I had an Asian waitress who was so charming and friendly that she pretty much made the evening for the whole table. She better appreciate the big tip. I can't wait to go back the next time im over the hill, if fact, I may just go over the ... read more
Original - People Like their work! – Praise the skies for something unique... unlike so many other LA spots, Firefly treats you like family. The food and wine are great, they give you a solid value, the staff actually cares for you and the crowd is top notch! Make reservations though... like the LA freeways - there is only so much space. Firefly keeps it comfortable with a heartbeat!
A nice evening – Reservations are king here. We were asked at the door by the bouncer and I had the impression that we would be turned away without them. Had to wait 15-20 min even though we had a reservation. The candlelit ambience is great but the noise level (music and people trying to talk over it) made for an interesting mismatch. Our service was excellent and the food good. We will be back, but maybe before dinnertime for wine and appetizers in the library bar.
THE PERFECT EVENING... – With no reservations (but it was early), Charley fit us in (it didn't hurt that my wife was dressed to the nines) to the best table in the house!! (back left corner). Amanda our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The drinks, appetizers (try the carmelized onion tart), salads, and entrees were perfectly prepared and served. After getting back into the car, the wife summed it up perfectly - "WOW!!" It was our first time, but I suspect we will soon be regulars...
whatever – i guess the owner of firefly assumes that the majority of la people are short because they bought their dining furniture from a kindergarten garage sale. whoever wrote the menu did an exquisite job of describing what you WONT have, the $16 "cheese platter" is not a platter but a plate with three slices of cheese. the flat-iron steak was actually some kind of shredded beef in steak shape. its small size packed little flavor. i came home mad that i couldnt take the rest of my steak home and with a terrible back cram... read more
