Best Mediterranean Restaurant in New York – My fiancee & I went to Fig&Olive Downtown (we?re huge fans of uptown local) & we fell in love! Such a wonderful place!!! – My boyfriend and I went there yesterday to celebrate our fifth anniversary and it was just the perfect place to be! Nice waitress and beautiful decorations! The food was really good. I took the pasta penne fughini, it was absolutely delicious! The wine list is amazing too! We tried a delicious glass of white dry spanish wine...really good! Fig & Olive Downtown – I am a lover of all things Mediterranean-while a born and bred NYer at heart, I love the sea and the atmosphere and all that comes with the South of France, Cote d'Azur, Italy and Spain...especially the fabulous food! Great place! – I went there on Friday, my friend and I had a reservation, no problem! We didn't have to wait and it was crowded!The food was delicious especially the crostini! The service was OK, we gote lucky, we had a smiling waiter and kind of cute so...The atmosphere and the music were great! this place is huge but still intimate! I really loved it I will go back soon!!!
Taste buds wake up! – Amazing flavors, great offerings and good explanations by wait staff of various olive oils and dishes served with them. Plates were awesome; like a party in your mouth!! All dishes arfully prepared; salads, carpaccio combos all must tries - especially the fig and ham. Room is v well done, open and airy. Going to be a good place in the warm weather!
Cool Atmosphere...okay food...horrible service – When we arrived on a Thursday night, the place was pretty crowded (to be expected). We had 9:30 reservations and even though we were all on time, we weren't seated until 10:30. Everyone around us was being seated, but when we asked about our table they said they were waiting for our table to clear and couldn't get the partons to leave. Great atmosphere, bland tasteless food – Went there Friday night with a group of friends. Atmosphere was great and the appetizers were good, but the main courses were really bland. I had the tilapia dish with mash potatoes and spinach salad...everything was really bland and tasteless. My friends complained of the same thing with their entrees. The vanilla icecream & cookies dessert was good. I would go again for drinks & appetizers only (maybe).
