With locations throughout the U.S., Fig & Olive presents diners with fresh, simple ingredients typical of the Mediterranean. Just like everything else on the menu, the restaurant's minimalist decor is reminiscent of the region. Some of the starters include Charcuterie, Crostini and Crudo while the entrees combine a scrumptious mix of seafood and meat. The Fig & Olive Tajine is highly recommended, it is a Moroccan spiced chicken cooked in a Tajine. The Table for Two menu features rotating items, some of which include a Chatea... read more

Love the olive oil tasting! – The urban Mediterranean vibe that echoes throughout the restaurant transposed itself right to the plate. We were able to taste not one, but three different olive oils to go with our bread, which was a memorable feature. We started with the steak tartare, which I had never had before but definitely will again, and the zucchini carpacchio. The portions were good-sized and very tasty. I had the Tuscan style cod with root vegetables for my entree and again, the portion was quite large, which is surp... read more
Beautiful Space.....Good Value – I ate at Fig & Olive for the first time yesterday evening. The restaurant, located in New York's former meat packing district, has 15 foot ceilings and is stunning. The restaurant had no less than 200 candles burning at the bar, on the tables and on wall mounted candle sconces. There were planters filled with fresh rosemary. Your first impression is incredible. The staff was accessible, polite. When we arrived, we were immediately seated at a corner table. We asked the waitress for a wine rec... read more
If I didn't avoid this hood, I'd come all the time. – This is seriously one of the nicest restaurant spaces I've been in recently. The food is good too, but it's the enormous bar that cuts the room in two and the high ceilings and spaced out tables that really did it for me here.
LOVE – this was the most delicious food I've had in a longgggg time! the food was creative and interesting, our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was beautiful. prob my new favorite restaurant....a little pricey but great for a date/birthday/special night out!
food not good – I had a bruch there with my husband last week and was very disapointed. As much as I love food in their other location on Lex. avenue, the food in this restaurant was not tasty, not fresh and the presentation was poor.Mashroom soup was luke warm and texture was odd, steak tartare was prepared way in advance so color was bad ( almost greyish), crostini with shrimp and avocado were tasteless. I would never go back to this location!!
great girls' night out place – I attended the restaurant on a Friday night with a girlfriend intending to catch up with her over dinner conversation. We were greeted at the door by the hostess who rudely said we had no reservation eventhough we made one online through Opentable. The next day I was contacted by Opentable to say that I didn't honor the reservation! Go figure. The music was so loud that we could not converse over dinner. The appetizers was delicious, mouthwatering crostinis. The fig spread with almonds and manc... read more
Setting Table While We're Still Sitting There? – I have never written a review before, but felt I had to call out the rude and aggressive service we got at Fig & Olive. I went with a group of 8, we weren't all there at our reservation time (our bad), so we waited at the bar and between the 6 of us spent about $100 on drinks. Once at the table, we ordered our appetizers (crostinis, croquettes, gazapachos, ceviche) and asked the waiter to come back for our entree order, as we hadn't decide yet. By the time he came back we were... read more
Get Figgy with It – We were there in early May, 2009 and have written a more detailed review for this restaurant. Please check it out at www.urbanherbivores.
Want the fig or Olives? – The place was beautiful: Modern, lots of open space, simple, herb topiaries, a beautiful display/storage unit for their wine. The service was also decent -- the guy was nice, not snotty (for this part of town, I expect snotty & bitchy) and knew the menu very well. The food was equally delicious. The array of oils were interesting, the crostinis were awesome, and the lamb wasn't dry. A job well done.
