FIG & OLIVE

4.3

About this business

With locations throughout the U.S., Fig & Olive presents diners with fresh, simple ingredients typical of the Mediterranean. Just like everything else on the menu, the restaurant's minimalist decor is reminiscent of the region. Some of the starters include Charcuterie, Crostini and Crudo while the entrees combine a scrumptious mix of seafood and meat. The Fig & Olive Tajine is highly recommended, it is a Moroccan spiced chicken cooked in a Tajine. The Table for Two menu features rotating items, some of which include a Chatea... read more

A BIT of both worlds – As a former employee of F&O I can finally speak up. While some of these reviews are quite accurate some of you are totally off the mark and have clearly never waited tables in your life. Futhermore New Yorkers are like children. You are the most needy people in restaurants. GROW UP! This is a personal response to artichoke78 as I was your server and you were so nasty and rude that your friend was ashamed of your behavior. it is our job to clear your table and when you still have your bowl in front of y... read more

Think twice – Went there for brunch and the food was just ok ,for the price tag it should have been much better! I can't say that the service was better either, the food took way too long. Hey I can wait 30 maybe 40 minutes for my food. But when it take almost an hour, there is a problem. Hopefully they can get their act together, its a really nice space and location. However, looks and location won't pay the rent.

I love meatpacking, but this place wasn't my cup of tea – I've been to both locations, and while the one in meatpacking is more spacious and tries to be hip, I neither got a hip nor cozy vibe, just an awkward in-between-ness. The crostini was decent, the antipasti platter just so so. My friend and I ordered the lobster pasta, mine you there were about 4 small pieces of lobster and a ton of pasta, an old trick that gets a little annoying when they're charging you $25 a bowl. I got the cookies and cream dessert, and while the ... read more

Great Pre-Dinner Drink Spot – Like the previous reviewer, I also agree that the decore was beautiful! The service was excellent and I was seated right away. The crostini I also enjoyed and the drink menus were terrific. The entrees were horrible. I have been there twice and after the second time I have decided it is the place to go for drinks and app's before going to dinner somewhere else. The pasta dishes were tasteless as was the fish. So if you just want a glass of wine, a great martini and some fabulous app's (inexpensi... read more

Excellent food! One of my favorite restaurant! – Fig & Olive Downtown is the best place to go for delicious, mediterranean ,cheap food and good service!!! I often go there and i always enjoy the experience. I love this place, and I am absolutely addicted to their appetizing crostini and their great proscuito melon carpaccio, which is not to be missed! The ambiance is great and the place is beautiful, their decor is fabulous.. This is definitely one of the best NYC spot to have a great diner and a good time. Last time I went ... read more

pretty space, but just average – I like the previous reviewer: "I am cheap & picky". Fig & Olive is a great place for that person and the masses. It seemed like a chain restaurant. The space is beautiful w/ olive trees & rosemary bushes everywhere, quite stylish. The crowd is super young, but so is everything in the meat packing district. The crostini was really great, but the rest of the meal went way downhill. Tuna carpaccio was barely tuna, it was drowned in balsamic vinegar and WAY TOO MUCH dressing, you could not even d... read more

Great place! – Been there twice for a party of 4 and it was great both times. The wait staff is extremely friendly and prompt and the food is great. Ordered the tasting menu antipasti and lobster ravioli and it was great. The place has a very high ceiling and has a very open feel to it and is decorated nicely. It's just very refreshing to be at especially living in NYC and after being at so many small cramped restaurants. It's a great place for a large gathering since it's so big. They also offer cooking classes which I woul... read more

I loved it.... – Let me preface by saying that I'm picky. And cheap. But let me tell you, there wasn't a bite of food I put in my mouth that didn't impress me. Everything was so tasty! The space is nice, the menu has a lot of choices, and the place wasn't full of annoying meatpacking district type people (on this particular night, anyway). There was simply nothing about the experience I didn't like. I left satiated, not stuffed, but for $112 for two, including a bottle of wine, I felt like I got a deal. I'll be coming back s... read more

superb! – I was expecting a trendy high-priced venue, but was absolutely surpised when I walked in. The bartenders really know their stuff, with the wet cucumber being one of the best drinks I've had in a long time. The tasting menu is the perfect way to start out your meal. We had every type of the crostini, which was de-lish. The entrees are reasonably priced, with nothing over $28. Ok, our waiter was really really bad, as in he forgot about us completely, tried to serve us our entrees when we hadn't even gotten our apps, ... read more
