FIG & OLIVE

4.3

About this business

With locations throughout the U.S., Fig & Olive presents diners with fresh, simple ingredients typical of the Mediterranean. Just like everything else on the menu, the restaurant's minimalist decor is reminiscent of the region. Some of the starters include Charcuterie, Crostini and Crudo while the entrees combine a scrumptious mix of seafood and meat. The Fig & Olive Tajine is highly recommended, it is a Moroccan spiced chicken cooked in a Tajine. The Table for Two menu features rotating items, some of which include a Chatea... read more

Great food and service – Highly recommend this place. Beautiful space, prompt seating and friendly service. Trendy but not pretentious like some of the inferior restaurants in the neighborhood. The food is great - love the appetizer with figs, goat cheese and jamon serrano - YUM! The lamb skewers and roasted chicken dishes are both delicious. Been here three times, and quality was very consistent...will definitely come back.

took a client here tonight on R.'s recommendation. the space is gorgeous, large and great lighting. I didn't care for the layout of where they sat me though; perhaps if I got one of the seats aligned against the wall it would've been better. we started off w/ crostinis: shrimp & avocado - gross, the shrimp was cold and rubbery, not seasoned at all, blah Manchego, Fig Spread, Marcona Almond - good but a bit too much fig spread Prosciutto, Ricotta, Fig Tapenade - delicious, should've just chose 3 of this we also shared the YEL... read more

One for the girls – The table was ready on time and the wait staff was eagerly attentive. While the signature salad didn't live up to expectations (too much of a green onion taste), the sole en papillote was succulent and light and just perfect with a little olive oil and sea salt. The side of mashed potatoes was dense and almost not elegant enough. The dish would have been better with polenta. There were a couple of hiccups - appetizers brought before tapas were done coupled with the too small table make the first course un... read more

Great venue, amazing food! – Well, it looks like I'm not the only one who enjoyed having dinner at this wonderful Mediterranean restaurant! Great staff, really nice environment (I love the way the interior is designed!), amazing food! My friends and I started off with a variety of olives and a plate of cheese, two perfect light appetizers that leave enough room for the delicious entrees offered in the menu. Being a big fan of chicken I had the pollo profumo di maggiorana and it was exquisite! One of my friends had the salmon... read more

Best Dinner Ever! – I went there with my friends and we had a very good time! The food was delicious! We started with the Bresaola and Goat Cheese crostinis follow by a mixed of charcuterie. It was sooo good! I'm a huge lover of soup so I tried the Butternut Squash while we' were drinking an unbelievable Cahors...hum red wine there is nothing as good as red wine especially the Cahors. Our waiter was really cute and competent! He was fast, and nice.As for the main meal, I personally chose the Pumpkin ravioli which I was reall... read more

Lovely Friday Evening in the Mediterranean – I recently visited Fig & Olive in the Meatpacking District after my friend informed me that this is her new favorite restaurant! I was immediately excited by the energy level and vibe when I walked in the door. I was greeted by two nice hostesses and then taken to the bar where I was waiting for my friends to join me. I asked for a mojito, my favorite drink and enjoyed this while people watching. The room was bustling. My friends arrived and we sat right away at a nice table in th... read more

Best Medditerranean on this side of the pond! – I wanted to have a meal that would take me back to my vacation this summer in the south of France. Fig and Olive was the perfect choice for that. The food, the service and the atmosphere was phenomenal. It was me and my boyfriend, for starters we had the Crab Croquettes, it was a sharing dish which was great and fun for us. The dish was perfect, the crab just melted in your mouth. For the main course I had the Fig&Olive Mediterranean Tasting, it was wonderful. I was able to tas... read more

Wonderful Sunday afternoon – We've been to this place 4 times - once for my birthday, twice for get-togethers during the week, and once for a friend's birthday. The service has always been good and the food superb. Great twist on the plethora of Mediterranean cuisines. Can be loud during the week, and the acoustics are not good if you're looking for a more romantic scene - except on Sunday afternoons just before the typical dinner crowd. Fantastic hummus!

Nice Concept, Poorly Executed – I like this restaurant in concept, a great Mediterranian restaurant with fresh figs, olives and olive oil; however, the mediocre menu and poor service failed to meet my expectations. The olive plate was microscopic. Likewise, the olive oil sampler was tiny and the Fig & Olive barely brought enough bread for the six of us. In fact it took three hours for my party to make it through all of our courses. It didn't help that the server overcharged us multiple times. The one saving grave was the app... read more
