Chesters was great. Ellie and family were fantastic. The tents were comfy and nice. The hot tub was perfect. To be able to slow down, stop and "just be" is rare these days. All we really had to worry about was making fire to cook and heat up the hot tub. Since we flew from Germany and spent time in the bigger cities in southern Scotland, we came with public transport and taxi to Chesters. That meant we just stayed on site. A magical, beautiful adventure for all ages! Stunning countryside. Loads to do, but also a great place to slow down and unwind. Lovely and attentive host. We will definitely go again

We have loved every second of our family stay at Chesters Featherdown. The perfect place to unwind and enjoy the slower pace of life for a few days. We could not have been made to feel more welcome by Ellie and family, wonderful hosts. We especially enjoyed the harvest in the allotment, swimming in the river and evenings in the hot tub as the sun went down. We will be back.

Chesters comes highly recommended not least because of Ellie who is a fantastic host. The location is beautiful, the perfect family break away from the trappings of modern life. We have now been twice as our kids loved it the first time - the river, the woods, the fruit and veg in the walled garden, the tree house, the open fires and not forgetting the hot tub… love it! We’ll be back.
