Very happy with low pressure salesman at Famous Tate , Oldsmar. Jim Q. was very helpful and appliances look beautiful. Just installed 2 days ago with no problems and hopefully appliances will work long and well. Would also like to praise installation company for built-in appliances. Premier Installations and Logistics, LLC came out for a home survey after our order was placed. They determined that double 30" oven would not be a good fit and we should buy 27" double oven. They arrived on time and were very efficient and polite. Josh B. and Lance took many measurements so there would be no bad surprises on installation day. Charlie & Tom did actual installation of refrigerator, double oven, dishwasher and microwave (w/range hood). They, too, were punctual and efficient. They were very careful not to damage anything and cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend Famous Tate, Oldsmar and Premier Installations & Logistics, LLC.

Mike has been at this Famous Tate for a LONG TIME. He used to be my parent’s “go to” guy, and now he’s mine. Excellent service when I’m buying and if I have any trouble.

We purchased a complete set of appliances from famous tate 2005. almost $5,000 spent on all supposed top shelf professional lifetime type appliances. Every unit had either massive failures had numerous malfunctions. A refrigerator that the compressor DIED in the first year. The drawers fell out and had a recall., the water line vavle broke and did $15,000 in damage. the dishwasher stopped working and would not drain, the water valve also then broke, then a fire safety recall to fix it, the garbage disposal exploded and we bought another somewhere else, the microwave broke TWICE. then the stove. The stove apparently had a MAJOR fire safety recall and famous tate never told us. They claimed we did not fill out the warranty card. But the unit was repaired twice while in warranty and the manufacturer shipped the parts to our home for the service man. The safety recall to recall this killer of a stove was ignored by them back then and NOW. Even thought the federal , and state laws specifically require the SELLER to notify those they sold the items to, and for the seller AND/OR the manufacturer to replace the stove when the repair is NOT been done in time to prevent the damage under federal LAW 15 U.S. Code § 2304 - Federal minimum standards for warranties section 4 (d) this company absurdly refuses to follow the laws. They WANT us to file suit. They are hoping we don't or cant afford to. this appears to be how they operate. . . There is long standing law on this issue. Even in Florida such similar cases where the recall was not done. Tons of cases. this company has to know , it is their business to know. I spoke to each , all the way to the top, and every one pretends to not know the laws or acts as if they mean nothing, or don't apply to them. Each claiming to be in the business for over 30 yrs, yet act like the laws they have no idea of. How absurd is that? I can find the absolute federal and state laws they MUST adhere to about safety recalls in a single day , and they after 30 yrs claim to not know.!!! or claim they don't apply ? The laws specifically call out the dealers and sellers as equally required by LAW to remedy the damages. In fact the sellers even have a special line to request the safety commission give them permission to take the unit and replace it and destroy it, even if the manufacturer does not agree. How ridiculous is that for these clowns to not know after 30 years. ? . There liability and mandatory involvement is right there in the first sentences of definitions as to who these law applies to. . . Also they claim the warranty card was not sent in, but we have the stub. The stove was $1500 and they say we had it nine years. But the Consumer product safety commission says this recall is regardless of age, or warranty and that famous tate is equally responsible according to the law. They are not only refusing to follow the law they are telling us to sue them. They even tired to persuade us to buy another stove at a discount saying it will cost us less than to sue. . When the law clearly states if we have to sue them they are responsible for all legal expenses , theirs and ours. The stove has a recall for suddenly turning itself on and starting fires and they did not follow the laws under Florida statutes or under federal laws of notifying customers. We could have been killed or lost everything every time we were away. They said we should have seen the notices in the paper, Yet they know full well those notices are intended for alert people who may have bought the stove second hand, not owners of record and records they are required by law to keep and use in such cases. . the law requires them to notify ORIGINAL owners they sold these items to and keep a record . We will never do business again with a company that does not follow the federal or state laws for safety recall notification to purchasers. Incidentally mandatory federal Recalls for life safety are exempt from ALL warranty status , and legally required to be carried out , regardless of warranty status on a product. So the issue of warranty is mute. And a warranty card is only for additional warranty by manufacturer, implied warranties of "fit for use" are mandatory regardless of sending any card in. That is also in the LAW. They know that too, these people could have killed us. 9 yrs we have had a ticking time bomb and they do not follow the laws to notify customers. Buying from them is a great danger as we see it, and never will again. We are pursuing full legal remedies and fully intend to see them remedy us and be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law for not following the laws ALL appliance dealers are required to follow.
Business Response:

We are sorry that you've had so many problems with the appliances purchased from our company. In regards to your range, Famous Tate has fulfilled our obligations by submitting customer data to the manufacturer at the time of the recall. Our management team has been in an extensive dialogue with you regarding the matter and has even intervened with the manufacturer on your behalf. Any recourse would be from the manufacturer at this point. Since your range is 9 years old, we also offered a substantial discount on a replacement model.
