Exeter Finance is a joke. I was told my car would be completely be paid off 3.1.19 because I paid all of my late fees and all of my payments that I had pushed to the end of the loan. Once 3.1 came they told me I owed 2000.00 plus dollars and now it's up to $4707.07. How did that happen? Oh yea now they are going to reposses it tomorrow. Really?? They are such liars. Guess it's lawyer time!!!!

Absolute worst customer service. Complete incompetence throughout entire company. I was promised a title in 10 business days sent to a mailong address as my old address on file is no linger relevant this was pointed out 7 times over a period of a MONTH... the title. Was sent to the DOL without any of the 10 people I spoke to ever mentioning. When it was finally brought to my attention it was sent to the DOL I went to get it only to be told the title is NOT in my name but only exeter was listed as owner. I had noted that it w... read more

Absolutely terrible. I'd put them right below a poorly lit pawn shop. Was in a bind after divorce and they were my only option to get financed for an auto loan. Payments were 481 on a 2018 Nissan Sentra. I did the math, and my interest on that loan came to $10 a day. Car got totaled out, ended up upside down on the loan. Called to see if they would refinance or at least lower the payments and their exact response was "you signed a contract to pay 481, and that's the amount we would need until loan is payed off". Mind blowing... read more

I was only ever able to get three billing statements from them the entire time I had the loan and those did not even start until after I had the loan for four months. So trying to discover my payment date took all kinds of digging and, in the end, I was only able to get it from the dealer who stuck me with them in the first place. Although I was initially able to create an online account, it almost never worked and I often had to scramble to get a payment mailed in time. Then, after I paid off the car in April 2015, I was un... read more

In September of 2015 my car died and I had to purchase a car immediately. I was working on repairing my credit from a previous bankruptsy in 2010 when this happened. Anyway the only finance company that would finance me was Exeter finance at 27% interest rate. Being a single mom without no other income but my job, I had no choice but to purchase the car. I did not have money to pay cash for a car and I had to get back and forth to work. By April 2016 I was struggling and forced into filing a chapter 13. I was told I would be... read more

This company should not be able to get away with the incompetence they've displayed in my 66-month dealings with them. In 2014 I was granted a loan deferral, or so I thought, that would move two payments to the end of my loan and spare me from any late payment and charges. I received letter from them telling me my next payment would be due in two months from original due date. When i finally went to make the payment, the statement said I owed three months. Someone had not entered the agreement into the system, making me 90 d... read more

This is by FAR the WORST company with which I've ever dealt. When I purchased my vehicle in December of 2016, both my credit and my husband's credit were not great. We settled for a loan with Exeter because we needed a vehicle despite many warnings that this company is horrible. In January of 2018, I made my monthly payment early online. Apparently, Exeter wiped the payment out of their system. I had no idea that this happened UNTIL I paid my February payment (again, it was early). I gave them the benefit of the doubt and pa... read more
