Exeter is a horrible company to work with, I fell behind on my payments due to medical and the late cycle continued with no catching up in site due to the ridiculous interest that accrues daily, I contacted Exeter to discuss a possible refinance and they said no we don't do that, I ask about taking my son off of the loan and allowing my new husband to assume responsibility along with myself in hopes of a better interest rate, they said no we don't do that. After almost 4 years of paying on this vehicle I still owe less than 200.00 off the original price they financed me for. the car is now 11 years old and I still owe them almost 14K. I want to turn it in and take a loss but I need my vehicle. I cannot refinance because I no one will take that negative hit and add to another behicle. Exeter told me they could move my payments back but that only added more interest to the remaining balance. I need to get rid of this vehicle and they can have it!!!

So I was excited about getting my new 2009 Cadillac CTS. the car was finance through Exeter for 12,000 back in 2017 for 400.00 a month yes I've been late a couple of times but for the most part paid them that month.my statement always comes in but I have the number saved along with my account number. By chance I found two of my statements, I've paid well over 7,267.00 why did my statement on 6/09/2019 say I owe 10,474.00 so I open the one from last month 10,310.28. Do not use this company to finance an auto loan, they are crooked. I had been making payments on time for about 8 months, then I get laid off from my job. I then call and ask if there is anything they can do and if they can work with me on the payments. They said sure and proceeded to make the next 2 payments "roll-over" into the end of the payment plan. They then asked what I could pay now, so I paid $100. Exeter Finance uses every trick in the book to get as much money out of you as they possibly can. Exeter Finance held onto my Gap cancellation check for a whole month before sending it to me. Then told me is in the contract.

I cannot give a lower review. In short, in my opinion, this company is not reliable and should not be trusted with your money. Refinance as soon as possible or return the vehicle immediately and seek other financing.

If I could give no stars I would... I called today because I'm literally about to go into labor any time now and my husband's hours have been cut at work. Our payments have been made on time and in full however our next payment is in 2 weeks so I called in for an extension due to hardship and explained the current situation so we could get ahead of it and prevent falling behind. I was informed we didn't qualify and would be refused help in this situation... this company and it's agents are a joke...

I made an online payment from 2 different debit cards on May 31 for my May payment but when I made the second transaction with the 2nd card the system threw me out. So I called them to make sure my payment went through and they said everything was fine but another payment was coming up, would I like to get an extension?
