While I understand market forces, I can't wrap my head around charging $1,500 for an apartment while still requesting tax abatement from taxpayers. Are you a business or a non-profit? Further, I can't fathom any person in housing or an adjacent industry not understanding the importance of diversity. The leasing manager apparently thinks that reducing diversity is a priority, based on her comments to others.
I can't even imagine living in a place like this, especially during college. On top of the terrible gentrification going on in the Loop, now we have this to deal with. Your marketing strategy and delivery of results shows that you are targeting an affluent white class community that will exclude those who actually live in the area! This is the last thing the loop needs - gentrification is killing the area and no one wants or needs this! The last big student housing development on the loop was a huge failure, and adding to this is grossly racist, classist, and irresponsible.
