I was referred to Dr. Black for a shoulder surgery and I truly cannot say enough good things about him. Beyond the exemplary work he did on the procedure itself, I was most impressed with his efforts to put me at ease with the everything leading up to the surgery and the following recovery. He returned my calls when I had questions (when I would have been perfectly happy with a call from one of the nurses) and was always respectful and attentive during office visits.
I recently found myself in Dr. Black's office with extreme knee pain and barely able to walk. I actually went there in crutches. He was professional and comforting. He drained the fluid from my knee and reassured me that he'll help get to the bottom of this pain. Which he did. I went to another doctor a couple of weeks prior whom did not drain the fluid, nor give me a cortisone shot. I am very pleased with my visit and fast results. I highly reccomend Dr. Black and everyone in this location.
To start, I'm 68 years old and have had numerous surgeries including four hand surgeries, six nerve procedures on my neck, etc. While I appreciated the care and expertise I experienced with surgeons throughout my life, I have never had a better experience and relationship with any doctor as I have with Dr. Black. He has a natural manner, friendliness and sincerity which draws you in and allows you to be a full participant in determining the course of your treatment. I consider him my friend.
I went to Dr. Black for a second opinion. I already had my surgery scheduled with another surgeon. I was so impressed by his manner, professionalism and he actually took the time to listen to me. I went home and cancelled my 1st surgery and went with Dr. Black. I had a complete tear of my rotator cuff and also had bicep tear. Thank you Dr. Black for repairing my shoulder !!
I've seen Dr Black two years in a row now for fracturing my right clavical and a labrum tear on my left shoulder and he is simply excellent. Dr black handles everything so professionally and I'm always comfortable in his office, he has a great sense of humors too! I always leave with a smile on my face
I dislocated my left elbow and fracture the radial head from a bad fall from basketball game. Dr. Black performed surgery and fixed me. After two months I was able to ride my motorcycle again. A very nice doctor and excellent surgeon who truly care for his patients. He has a very impressive credentials and track record. I would highly recommend him for orthopedic surgery specially elbow injury.
On July 29, 2017, Dr. Black performed extensive surgery to my left elbow, which required numerous plates and screws. Prior to the surgery, Dr. Black explained the procedure thoroughly, and made me feel comfortable and trusting in his abilities. Since the surgery, I have almost complete movement and strength in my elbow. I have had several follow up appointments with Dr. Black, and he listened and answered my questions completely. He is an excellent doctor, and would highly recommend him!
Can’t say enough great things about Dr. Black. I am a personal trainer and an OCR athlete so I always need to be working at 100%. He repaired my shoulder and bicep and I feel stronger than ever. I absolutely recommend this Doctor, he is a skilled professional with excellent bedside manner and has always been available to walk me through any questions that I had.
There are not enough superlatives to describe my experience with Dr. Black. He was my third opinion on a complex shoulder reconstruction (including 2 doctors in NYC). His recommendations, explanations of the procedure, and bedside manner were superior to say the least. Now 1 year after a complex revision, I have no pain and full function. Kudos, doc, you saved my arm!
