From the moment we met Dr. Black right up to the 3 month post op visit, he has surpassed all expectations of what a true Dr/Surgeon should be. Pre op examine included lengthy explanations of the problem ,(elbow injury) with MRI photos. We never felt rushed or under any pressure to proceed with the recommended surgery. Dr. Black did labrum surgery on my right shoulder. This was the first surgery that I had ever gotten so I was very unsure of what to expect. I am extremely active in the gym and on the golf course and thought I would be doomed with my torn shoulder. Dr. Eric Black is excellent! He operated on my shoulder about 5 months ago, and with PT, I’ve regained full use of my arm/shoulder. Dr. Black actually called me the night before the surgery and day after to see how I was feeling! Dr. Black is professional, intelligent, compassionate and highly-skilled surgeon. You can trust Dr. Black. Highly recommend.

Dr Black performed total right shoulder replacement surgery in Oct 2018 at Morristown Hospital. Following 10 years of persistent pain and limited range of motion, my expectations were not very high. After five months of diligent physical therapy and daily workouts on my own, I am already performing 3 sets of 12 perfect push-ups, bench pressing 35 lb dumb bells with ease and restored approx. 90% of my range of motion. And most importantly with absolutely no pain. I would like to thank Dr. Bla

Went for a check up, shoulder pain, unfortunately more work to follow, but I knew that. Staff was helpful, office was clean and easy to find. So far, so good. They were right on time!

I saw Dr. Black for some pretty extensive shoulder damage I had from years of over use and injuries. His attention to detail and competent confidence gained my trust very quickly. The office and surgical suite areas are immaculate and the surgical team was top-notch. The post-operative pain was very tolerable and less than 3 months after surgery I have full range of motion, no pain, and nearing full strength. I highly recommend Dr. Black without question!!!

Prior to seeing Dr. Black, I was in an MVA and scheduled for shoulder surgery for a torn labrum. I was in pain & unable to move my shoulder for 4 mo. Every PT appointment took wks for approval. I went to Dr. Black for a 2nd opinion & he actually read the MRI in the office, diagnosed me with a frozen shoulder & gave me a steroid injection that day. 3days later, I was able to dress myself without help. PT was approved without any delays and I am 99% recovered. He is a great MD, kind and thorough.
