The reasons for the 2 stars are : location,Fabio and the bartender in the rooftop bar and for the early check in! Unfortunately only this what was up to our expectation! We stayed in room 729, checked in on 03/12 for 1 night. My girlfriend always wanted to try your hotel, since it appears in many movies. Well: 1. At check in the credit card has been authorised with $150 on the top of the accommodation part. Which I completely understand, since you have minibar, but maybe you could made us aware. 2.Dirty curtain, and I am not... read more
I thought this hotel was great value for money. Location was really good, next to Central Park, 5th avenue and good restaurants. Myself and friend had a double double room with a lovely big TV, beds were comfortable, staff friendly and we were very satisfied with everything, shower was also great. To make this hotel more perfect would have been having tea and coffee provided in the room, apparently the delivery of pods for coffee machine hadn't arrived, not much choice for cooked breakfast considering price charged for it. For me the Empire is all about location. We go to Lincoln Center and the hotel is across the street. The rooms are small as is the bathroom. The rooms are clean. The kuerig coffee is there, but only 1 cup is free. after that $3/cup. We stay often and came with our own kuerig cups. Another good thing is that there are really nice restaurants. PJ Clarkes is on the ground floor and cafe fiorello is across the street. Lastly, the staff is responsive.
the Empire hotel is located just outside the hassle and bustle of the big city and we LOVED it. Tommy on the door was always happy to help and give advice, Sharde the receptionist was just amazing from start to finish and then there's Kenny in the bar, he is a LEGEND! Our break was amazing but the people made it even better. Would Defo recommend this hotel. It's clean, staff are friendly and helpful and we had an absolute blast. Will definitely be going back to this hotel when we go back to NYC.
The pictures on the website do not do it justice. The lobby and rooftop lounges are awesome. The rooms while decent are way too small, the shower had no doors so when you shower the water is all over the bathroom floor. The beds were too firm. I personally told housekeeping lady not to go in my room. When I came back they had gone in and cleaned. All in all I do not think I would come back. It was already pricey. The website pics are not what the rooms look like.
Not what it was by the pictures! We were supposed to have superior rooms. Stained ceilings, leaky shower & not that clean!
