Had terrible patient care experience at Elmhurst Hospital. was told I should be helping more. Was told I should doing my mother patient care myself and that I was going let my mother fall while I was trying look at paperwork from the social worker to pick home healthcare. They took my mother for tests with no mask on and they took my mother thru the crowded hospital for discharge with no mask on. this was 2 days ago.

Good hospital and excellent doctors. I had surgery there last year at this time and my care was better. It was obvious staff has been cut back, especially on days. That needs to be reaccessed. The beds are extremely uncomfortable if you have any type of orthopedic surgery. You just can’t get comfortable. The recliners have room for improvement too. I had a fabulous doctor and was happy about that, but there is room for improvement. Staff was very nice.

Nurses were good Staffing was doable. I am a nurse else where
For the most part I was taken care of very well. I got along with all the nurses and pcts And I even joked with them. The last night I was there, I was sitting in the chair, watching tv, when all of a sudden I needed to have a bowel movement like yesterday and it was half way out and coming out fast. I guess I wasn’t thinking straight and I grabbed my crutches and headed for the bathroom and didn’t seem to have time to call the nurses station. I had a left knee replacement at Elmhurst Hospital last week. I found the entire process, from scheduling tests, making sure I had all the information needed, and check-in phone calls with the surgical staff to be effortless, professional, and friendly. I felt completely safe while in the hospital, and all of the care professionals helping me to be exceptional in their knowledge and care-giving.
The staff was super friendly and always there to help.
Everyone, from the moment I walked into the ER with severe anemia, to the day I was discharged feeling so much better from the hospital, could not have been more knowledgeable, more caring and just all around on top of their game. I truly felt as though I were the most important patient they saw each day. I couldn't have felt more confidence in being cared for. Thank you.
