I’m only able to rate the service as I didn’t stay long enough to taste the food which for all I know might be excellent. But when I sit down at the bar and the bartender slides a menu at me without so much as looking at me, looks miserable while they do it, doesn’t say hello or can I get you something to drink, and walks away disinterestedly when the service is slow, then I just leave. This is seriously the best Mexican restaurant I've EVER been to! We had the nacho mamma, bazooka limon guacamole, queso fundido de hongas (truffled mushrooms & cheese), and roasted brussels sprouts (1st time I've ever liked Brussels sprouts). Every single dish was absolutely, amazingly delicious! I also loved the soft, red velvet tufted circular booths which really added to the ambience - very comfortable too. I am not from Philadelphia, and I really wish El Vez would open a location in the DC suburbs in MD!!!
First time here. Great food and service , pleasant experience.
Only had one drink and the open face chicken quesadilla but that was all we needed to want to come back again!

My mahi tacos were fantastic and i ordered the Brussel spouts that were a perfect compliment. The El Vez margaritas were so refreshing for the 87 degrees evening ! Such a tasty spot with a fun city vibe
