The best Chili Rellenos you will ever find. Our whole family has been coming here since they opened. Even my 93 year old Mom loves this place! Great place for family birthdays. David, the owner, makes you feel welcome. He is great with kids and adults alike.
Great food, excellent service, great atmosphere.
Maybe we shouldn't have tried it on a Saturday. Waiter told us beforehand that he was triple seating himself. Problem was he waited on the later table before us. They seemed to get great service but we definitely did not. I tried to tell someone there was no toilet paper but she didn't understand. She gave me a roll of paper towels. My husband tried to open the men's room door. Seconds later a waitress and the hostess came out. Definitely an experience.
Food was great as always! We had great service too especially on such a busy night!
On our last visit, it took several hours to get a table, eat and leave. Everyone who got a table after we did had already been served before we got our food. Corona's is much better all around.
We have been coming here now for about 22 yrs. Staff is always wonderful and David also of course. Nothing bad I can say about this place!!!

I have been going to The El Matador restaurant since 1982. My parents took me there when I was a kid, and now I take my family. This place is not your ordinary restaurant. Starting in 1968, this restaurant has served as kind of a hidden treasure to the Upstate, SC. David and his team is nothing short of culinary genius. The atmosphere is quaint and it feels like home. My husband and I come here weekly. Best food around. It's fresh and staff is always welcoming. Owner is great!
