Absolutely love this place. Been going here for over 30 years. When I think authentic Tex-Mex I think El Matador. The service is impeccable the prices are perfect. And the owner. Yes the owner makes it a point to go around and speak to everyone that comes into his great establishment. Thank you for all the memories. Can’t wait to make many more.
If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, you will not find it here, Taco Bell was more authentic and tastes better. Hate to say it but it was just gross. The waitress was nice though, and staff was great, just wish the food was.
The food was delicious and the service was very good! Everyone was very friendly and the owner came to the table and thanked us for coming. They brought my friend a dessert for her birthday. I have been eating at the El Matador not long after they opened at their first location. This is my favorite place to eat and I would eat more often it was closer as I live in Spartanburg. Thank you El Matador for the wonderful food and many good memories through the years!
The BEST Mexican Food in town!!! The atmosphere is so nice and enticing!! Every time I walk thru the door I always see a smiling face. Excellence service and great homemade spicy salsa & chips to enjoy while looking at all the entrees they have to offer. I would put 6 stars but that wasn't an option!!! BTW: when you meet the owner you will know why this place is all around the best!
Unbelievable amazing environment very welcoming everyone is very kind and the food is amazing a lovely place to have dinner with family and friends very kid friendly

Nice atmosphere, Excellent customer service, Quality fresh ingredients and food. Many unique menu items would like go back to try! Supposedly house Sangria, excellent cheese dip, and other items.
El Matador’s name should be changed to “Best Damn Mexican Restaurant Period”!
Another great supper at El Matador with the family!!! Andi Claire didn't stop eating the entire time we were at the table!!! She had chips and salsa, pieces of steak, beef nachos, beans, blueberries, strawberries, and of course sopapillas with that awesome good homemade whip cream!!!! Yummy, yummy, yummy!!! Thanks David Stockwell for putting up with us and the fantastic food!!! Andi Claire even gave a hug before leaving!!!
