There are several self-guided hiking trails such as the Observation Trail, which winds through oak groves to culminate with a sweeping view of the river. The center maintains a sanctuary for rescued wild animals. The park has history and cultural programs as well as programs on the environment. The gift shop has historical trinkets, books, and more.

We love this park and the nature center! We are so lucky to have it here in Carmichael. My mom was a docent at a nature center when I was a kid and I did the tours with her on weekends and it made me appreciate and love nature. Our kids need Effie Yeaw Nature Center.

We come here every weekend. Sometimes both Sat and Sun
I 💜Effie Yeaw nature center. They have a nice and helpful staff, some rescue animals ( like an amazing queen owl 🦉). Interesting exhibits, cool stuff to buy. And one of my favorite places to hike in Sacramento
Very nice park to take the kids to !! We enjoyed seeing the birds , deer and owls 🦉

We saw hawks, squirrels, rabbits, turtles and various other types of birds, including geese and woodpeckers. It was an incredible experience that allowed us to take a break from our everyday life and explore the wilder side, watching animals in their natural habitat.. We didn't want t... read more
