I’m now live in Tucson and before that upstate NY. My stepdaughter lives in the Durango area. We first dined at this place the first year it opened and w loved it. We made a pledge to each other that every time I visited her we would come here to dine and enjoy. So we have eaten here at least once a year since it opened. Great food. Best sushi I’ve ever had. Last nigh’s dinner was fabulous.

Some of our most memorable dining experiences and creative culinary encounters have taken place here over sushi hand grenades and marsala corn fritters. Yes, for real, hand grenades, with a delicious explosion of spicy flavors. Swallow one of these exciting mouthwatering Molotov cocktails and let the revolution begin in your palate. Super creative cuisine prepared with sushi making skills to rival Los Angeles but with the desert southwest flare. Sergio Verduzco is so welcoming and brilliant.

Returned to East by Southwest on our usual August trip to Durango. It is always our first stop for sashimi and other Japanese speciality. The food is always amazing. This time, the pork Raman broth was rich and the typical Raman ingredients were cooked to perfection. The chirashi presentation was unique and beautiful to look at. All the fish tasted of the ocean.
