Wife was in waiting on a buddy to have surgery. She politely asked the receptionist if there was any where she could go to pump because she is still breast feeding my son. The receptionist responded with well you can in the restroom. That’s just unacceptable. Would you eat your food if it was prepared in a public bathroom. Moved here in Oct. It has taken me over two months to finally get an appointment here (called so many times, only to get "someone will call you back"), only to find out that I cannot be seen at the women's clinic due to under-staffing (?). So you are telling me that your VA did not budget to take care of ALL women vets? Once again, women vets are disrespected.

I came here from St. Louis and never left. VAMC Leavenworth, Kansas; has been good for me and many others.
Coming to Leavenworth VA because of the friendly staff , its hometown feel. Also those behind the scenes that help the veterans that do not get much notice. The volunteers, the escorts , the guys at the front door that greet the veterans and help them throughout the day, taking them to their appointments in their wheelchairs, helping them with directions.The VA police that are always there when you need them. I work here and everyday I hear way more good reports from the veterans then I do bad.
Not allow one doctor to be Judge, Jury, and Executioner when it comes to medical care. Especially when they have never put eyes on someone. Not allowing a 2nd opinion is ridiculous. And if your Patient Advocate would actually follow-up with a phone call so you know what the next step would be when they can not help you, or I should say will not help you vs. a Provider.
I am a retired Registered Nurse. This is the friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever met. Very responsive to my needs. If I was able to work this is where I would want to be.
