I found myself being asked in a letter by my landlord to leave my home after 12 years without involving any relevant authorities.....I didnt know the law in Scotland and as it turns out private tennants MUST go through a tribunal before an eviction can go ahead. I stupidly agreed to vacate with no authorities getting involved which as it turns out would have left me homeless as I'm vacating my flat voluntarily and I wouldn't have been able go get another flat from the council.
