The staff has been very good to my dad. They are very attentive, caring and always have a smile on their faces. I'm glad to know he's in great hands.
Staff was wonderful!!! As a minor suggestion, the computers in the ER rooms have a screen saver with slides that, in the dark, appear to flash, making it difficult to sleep. Maybe you could use the same format for each slide and they would not appear as flashing light.
I had rotator cuff surgery there in 2012 and got 3 different strains of infection from it. I ended up having to have a picc line installed and the strongest IV antibiotic you can take twice a day. The infection ended up eating away all but just a little bit of deltoid muscle left and I had 6 surgeries and the last was a reverse shoulder replacement. Frustrating to deal with. Not just billing but the attitude of the staff and doctors. I always end up feeling like they are doing me a favor by seeing me. I currently see 4 duke doctors and am actively seeking new doctors outside of the duke machine. I emailed one of my doctors on Tuesday using Duke's "secure send a message to your provider system". Worst experience ever!! Went to the ER last night with my 1 year old daughter waited over two hrs! Then they called us back and waited another 45 mins with a baby is pain she cryer so much that she actually cried herself to sleep! Than the doc came and she didn't know anything! Main complain of my baby was ear infection and a rash she developed (we think) because of the antibiotic. Well.. she was going to let us go and I was like uh are you going to check my baby's ears!!? I hate hate hate this hospital. I used to like it because it was so convenient and the wait time was less than Wake Med but after seeing my aunt being treated here is ridiculous. She called the nurse because she felt extremely nauseous and after 20 minutes, I went to the hall where there were nurses sitting around and I could see one who was blatantly on Facebook as if you couldn't see it....... Housekeeping attended to my aunt before a "nurse" could. This is not a hotel, get your service up.
Definitely not impressed so far. Cannot get any answers. Lack of communication. Need more nurses. Would NOT recommend this hospital as of today. We will see how the week progresses and will be more than happy to update my review if anything changes...but dont hold your breathe :( On a positive side, the few nurses we have talked to are very nice...
Highly recommend! Awesome staff. I couldn't have been happier with the care I received!
Worst emergency room ever. Horrible experience with my stepfather. Waited for hours. Do not wish my worst enemy on this place.
