Worst ER in all of Wake County. From the nasty receptioinist, to the girl texting while inputing my information, it was a fiasco. Iafter waiting 2 and a half hours and asking how much longer it would be (i was told I was not allowed to have that information) I finally took my weistbandsoff and let them know I was leaving. I watched people that were in less pain than me that came after me get treated first. The ER there could have its own sitcom. If you need to go to an ER, go to Wake Med. I'm an RN from Tennessee and came 630 miles to Duke Raleigh hospital so Dr. Lloyd Hey could repair my scoliosis. As a medical person, I knew a little more than the average patient and while no hospital is perfect this one was pretty darn good. Every staff member I met checked my ID band and asked for my birthday including kitchen staff. Every nurse followed protocol and scanned meds before giving them. I am coming back for another round of CSF leak repair and I can honestly say I will get nothing less than superb care from your team. You guys set a high bar. I am from Greenville SC.
Awesome place to be after having double ceberal brain aneurysm I made it with the help of some great doctor's. But with a praying family and friend I know it was the grace of the almighty God that saved me. The doctor 's were amazed that I awaken from life support the next day. What little did they know God had others plans for me. I am Grateful I made it to Duke. Lots of care and support from the staff.

I had to find another Oncologist when the Cancer Center closed. My Oncologist there suggested Dr. Laura Havrilesky but I was very "Unsettled" about this. When I met her and her nurse Alicia it was an instant connection! They are very caring and compassionate and I never have to wait to get in touch if needed. Alicia is the most delightful person that "almost" makes me forget I have cancer when I am stressed! God "opened the right door" for me! Thank you both, Dr. Havrilesky and Alicia!
