My wife was a patient of his at Fairview and he seemed totally great there. Once she was out of the hospital and she saw him in his office, it was like a real life Jeckel and Hyde. He was unbelievably unprofessional during the appointment. For example, he started eating his lunch during her appointment, made it sound like she would never feel better and that she was doomed to a depressive life. He also told her that since I have MS, she should prepare for the fact that I would end up in a nursing home. My wife cried over tha... read more

If there was a rating LESS than terrible I would give it to him. Was refered to him and saw him for a while. Wish I'd read these reviews before making appt. All these negative complaints are a exact reflection of my experience. Have never met a more unprofessional Dr. If being "put down" and disrespected is your thing, than by all means see him. No treatment for your issues is way better than this! He should have his license yanked!

Dr. Winegarden is great! As far as waiting times, he has gotten better. Other doctors are concerned with getting you in for 15 minutes, getting you out, and billing you. He actually spends time with you, listens to you, and assesses you if there are any changes. The only way he can do that is if he spends time with you and everyone else. The downside is that there can be a backlog because he is spending the time it takes. What I have learned is to call ahead and see if he is running later. If you do not think he is worth it,... read more

I have been seeing Dr. Winegarden for a couple of years and at first I trusted what he was saying because I had no reason to think otherwise. But the more I learned, the less I trusted what he had to say. Going to appointments in his office was always a very frustrating experience. Every single time I was there, I had to wait a minimum of 45 minutes past my appointment time. I had to walk out a couple of times because it was taking too long. Even after waiting for so long, I would sit in his office and listen to him talk abo... read more

Seroquel is a potentially dangerous drug and should only be used for people with moderately severe to severe mental illness. However, if you're afraid to fly, this doctor would be more than willing to put you on seroquel in a misguided attempt to quell your fear. If you have headaches related to stress, he'll add another 50 mg. Do you have insomnia? No problem, lets bump you up to 300 mg of seroquel per day. Next thing you know, you've gained 35 pounds, have high blood sugar and are pre diabetic. Of course, a small dose of a... read more

Collusion, incorrect documentation, consulting GP said no reason for being in fairview-riverside lockup, Winegarden should be brought on charges… general MD seen daily to monitor “drug withdrawal” (I HAD NONE) social worker and 3 nurses on sight pulled me aside and said if you go against him you won’t see the light of day for 90 days. He has so much power with commitmant judges…no one will challenge him on staff…I wrote nearly 10 page single spaced rebuttal to medical record going line by line (get full copy of chart (free) ... read more

You can look up reports on compensation from pharma to doctors online. YES, Dr. idiot Winegarden gets big money from AstraZeneca, makers of Seroquel. In 2011, about $311,000. Can we get him out of practice?

Every single time my husband goes to Dr. Winegarden, he ends up sitting around the waiting room for 1-2+ hours past his appointment time. EVERY SINGLE TIME. When medications don't work, he just prescribes more on top of them. He doesn't care about his patients, is unprofessional, and does not appear to be knowledgeable about his profession. Walked out of the last appt after 2 hours in the waiting room. Looking for a new dr. now, it's ridiculous.

Wow, reading these reviews really makes me think my brother should stop seeing Dr Winegarden. My brother see's doctor winegarden ever month and has been for awhile now. One thing that really upsets me about him is he is never on time, ever. I bring my brother to his office most times and one time I was waiting with my brother for 2 whole hours and my brother ended up meeting with him for about 10 minutes. I dont understand why he cant just see less patients so he isn't always running behind. It really makes my family feel he... read more
