I would recommend this man to anyone that wants to pay hundreds of dollars to be belittled, mocked, and humiliated. If you need a person to tell YOU about YOUR pain, where it is located, how trivial it is, how insignificant it is he is your man. He trains his residents very well, they can talk down to you almost as good as he does. He will stop you in mid sentence so he can record his own comments no matter how demeaning they are about you directely into his smart phone. I was lifeflighted to Pitt with my hand almost severed off he reattached it and I have almost full use and a few more surgeries with him. I like his bed manners uses real words not dr terms. Love him
Dr. Kaufmann is a well mannered doctor and seems to know his specialty. Highly recommend.
Much better than other orthopedic doctors I have been to. Yes, I waited over 1 hour for my appointment, but this is less that I waited for other doctors! His bedside manner was great-before and after my surgery. He did not seem rushed and was thorough in answering all my questions--and I had a lot. I have recommended him to a friend already.

Dr. Kauffman has an aloof and indifferent bedside manner. He did not address my follow-up concerns regarding a sprained ligament in my thumb that did not heal properly after I followed his instructions. Is not good about returning calls. Although he seems to be knowledgable, I do not recommend him due to his personality/character.
I have the deepest respect for Dr. Kaufmann and his God-given gift as an excellent surgeon. He took my case when another surgeon wouldn't and was able to save my finger from being amputated. He has a tremendous work-load and I am so fortunate to have crossed his path. I would recommend him to anyone. God bless you, Dr. Kaufmann and thank you.
he seemed to be in a rush and did not give me follow up appointment or told me about future treatment.
Does good orthopedic work, but fails significantly in following up, showing up to let you leave hospital (waited 16 hours once), and dodges patients after surgery regarding complications.
