I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Wupperman the next day when I called. Apparently, he is one of the few doctors who deals with scoliosis patients. I was very pleased with his examination and explanation. I have a Herrington rod in my back and have had it for 38 years. I'm 83 and Dr. Wupperman thinks he should not perform surgery on my spine at my age - thank goodness, I do not want surgery anyway!! He recommended a shot to help with the pain I am experiencing. Now to get it.

I was referred to Dr. Wupperman by the neurosurgeon who performed surgery on my back three years ago. I found his choice of Dr. Wupperman to be excellent. When I first met the doctor I felt he was truly concerned about my condition and he appreciated my anxiety about the procedure he would be doing. He answered my questions in a straightforward manner. By the time our first appointment was over I had complete confidence in him and I was ready to commit to surgery.

Dr. Wupperman was highly recommended and I wanted to make a new patient appointment. Scheduling said they needed my medical records first. No appointment could be made without the records. That took about three weeks for various reasons. Once the records were received (I had to call to find out) the appointment was scheduled over two months later. Very discouraging as a new patient needing help not to be able to make an appointment sooner without requiring medical records first.

When I couldn’t get relief from epidural shots from another doctor, I went to Dr Wupperman and he ordered an MRI and he called me and suggested I get surgery. It was very successful and I have degenerative disks and he has done surgery on my lumbar and cervical spine. I had relief from pain after each surgery. I would highly recommend him to anyone with back pain.

Underwent difficult & rare thoracic discectomy & fusion 7/14 with excellent results. When experienced pain at higher thoracic level 2 yrs later, Dr. W suggested alternative treatments prior to undergoing add'l thoracic surgery, which, thus far, have delayed surgery. Fall of 2017 experienced severe low back & rt leg numbness; his quick & thorough diagnosis resulted in corrective surgical intervention which has alleviated debilitating symptoms. I totally trust his judgment & surgical skills.

I followed Dr. Wupperman from a previous practice where he was called in to assist in repairing a prior surgery. This doctor is incredible. His knowledge is extraordinary and his listening skills are perfect. I would not go to any other spine surgeon in Austin.

Dr. Wupperman came highly recommended to me from my primary care physician. I found Dr. Wupperman to be even better than promised. He was both highly knowledgeable and caring. I have already recommended him to a friend and will tell anyone who needs similar care to see him. I could not be more pleased.
